Maroon Door Brewery
The Maroon Door Brewing project stands as a showcase of adaptive reuse done right. Located in the heart of downtown Blacksburg, this historic structure, once home to the Sportscenter in the 1960s, was transformed into a fully modern brewery, commercial kitchen, and hospitality destination without losing the character that made it iconic.
Omnibuild led the structural restoration and full commercial build-out, carefully reinforcing and upgrading the existing framework to meet modern building codes while preserving architectural elements that rooted the space in its history.
Summary
Our careful construction process blended the preservation of the Brewery's rich history with modern engineering. The discovery of the maroon door, a cherished artifact from the Sportscenter, became a symbol of the establishment's heritage. This project beautifully combined the past and present, creating a welcoming space for all to enjoy.
