We are excited to share with you the progress we've made on the "Getaway Cabin" we're constructing in Floyd County. We're currently in the framing transition phase, moving into the rough phase, with the roof sheathing in place and the structure protected from the weather. Now, it's time to install all the electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems within the walls.
As part of this phase, we've arranged a walk-through with our clients, and continue working with our electricians, tradesmen, and project manager. At this stage, we walk through the house, envisioning how it will feel to live in the space. We discuss placement of light switches, outlets, and furniture, ensuring everything aligns with our clients' needs and preferences.
This particular project involved close collaboration with our clients from the early stages, even before floor plans were finalized. We worked on the layout and flow of the house, incorporating features like converging pocket doors to maximize space efficiency in areas like the office/guest bedroom.
We've also been mindful of preserving the natural surroundings, minimizing tree removal and opting for a mono-pitched, shed-style roof to both save costs and enhance the interior with tall ceilings and large windows.
The kitchen layout will feature countertops along one wall and a designated coffee station, allowing residents to wake up to the beauty of nature every morning.
