Building Better Starts with Showing Up
Every year, the International Builders Show (IBS) brings together builders, manufacturers, and innovators from across the country. This year in Orlando, we walked the floor with one question in mind:
How can we build better for our clients and our community?
IBS 2026 wasn’t just about flashy products. It was about performance, durability, safety, and smarter systems that improve the way homes are built and lived in.
Here are a few things that stood out.
Fire-Resistant, Moisture-Resistant Insulation
One of the biggest highlights was stone fiber insulation from Rockwool.
Unlike traditional insulation, this material is made from natural stone and offers:
Superior fire resistance
Strong moisture control
Excellent sound dampening
Long-term durability
For homeowners, that means safer, quieter, and more resilient homes. In regions like Southwest Virginia where weather shifts and moisture can be factors, materials like this matter.
We’re always evaluating how products like these fit into real-world builds, not just showroom demos.
IBS 2026 Elevated Exterior Finishes & Natural Materials
We saw some incredible exterior cladding systems and stabilized wood finishes that bring a refined, natural look to modern builds.
From barnwood-style siding to architectural wood panels, the emphasis this year was on:
Authentic texture
Longevity
Low maintenance
Clean, modern profiles
These aren’t trendy finishes. They’re long-term design decisions that elevate curb appeal and hold up over time.
Modern Stair & Railing Systems
We spent time looking at floating stair systems and glass railing solutions that create open, architectural statements inside a home.
Clean lines.Integrated lighting.Minimal structure with maximum visual impact.
Details like these can transform an entryway or main living space into something truly custom.
IBS 2026 Construction Tech That Improves the Client Experience
Beyond materials, one of the most important sections of IBS was the technology corridor.
We explored project management software and 3D visualization tools designed to:
Improve communication
Reduce delays
Increase transparency
Help clients visualize their project earlier
The future of construction isn’t just better materials. It’s better systems.
And when systems improve, clients benefit.
Why IBS 2026 Matters
At Omnibuild, we don’t attend shows like IBS just to look around.
We go to:
Stay ahead of material trends
Evaluate new performance-driven products
Strengthen relationships with suppliers
Improve our internal processes
When you build a custom home or renovation, every material and every system choice matters. Our job is to bring you options that are thoughtful, durable, and proven.
If you’re planning a project and want to talk through what’s possible, we’d love to connect.
Build smart. Build strong. Build local.
