The Installation Phase - Omnibuild Custom Home Build in Floyd, VA

We are excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at one of our current projects here at Omnibuild General Contractors! Join Jessie and Luke on a walk-through as they discuss some of the early processes of the Installation Phase at Omnibuild!

The clients chose a high character grade for both, featuring unique pieces with knots and old nails that stain the wood. This combination will give the house a phenomenal look, blending modern elegance with rustic charm.

We've just completed the bluestone flooring in one of the rooms. What’s special about this floor is that we dropped it down two inches more than the rest of the floors in the house. This allows for a seamless transition from the thick bluestone to the hardwood, creating a zero-threshold effect that flows effortlessly from one room to the next.

The Omnibuild Touch

At Omnibuild, we really thrive on the finer details. Every element is carefully considered so that each room complements the next. From how the windows align with the floors and doors to the cohesive flow of the entire house, we ensure that everything comes together beautifully.

Previously, we’ve talked about the start of the rough-in phase, the initial walkthrough, and some of the decision-making processes. This ties in closely with the selections made by Jessie and her team. Once the rough-ins are completed—which includes all the wiring, framing, and placement of blocking—we move into the finishes stage.

Seeing the rough-in phase transition to drywall and then to the final finishes is always exciting. This is the point where the project starts to feel like a home. It's a fun phase for our clients too, as they begin to see their dream house take shape.
